About One

Founder: One day during my freshman year in high school, I noticed something about myself. Every day we'd go to lunch, there would be people who didn't have anything to eat, or wouldn't have much and would still be hungry after they finished whatever they had. Then this got me thinking about every time I'd seen someone on the street, and they looked hungry. Then I realized the feeling this created inside me. A rage is the only way to describe it. I genuinely "hated" seeing people hungry. I'd always help these people as I was blessed to be in a situation where I could, but that didn't change the fact that hungry people were still everywhere. It was then I realized God had put that in my heart. I wasn't like that for no reason, and something needed to be done about it. From then on, I knew we would end world hunger together.

Where did the name come from?

There were many names to choose from, but I knew it had to be bold, powerful, yet simple. "One" was perfect because it stands for everything we believe in one word.

  • God is the one who gave us the vision
  • We have one goal
  • One person at a time
  • We are one people
  • We have one heart
